EV Charger Reliability & Uptime

Our commitment to reliable charging

We are committed to providing reliable, accessible public EV charging and supporting drivers to switch to electric with confidence. In line with the UK Public Charge Point Regulations 2023, we monitor the performance of our rapid and ultra-rapid charge points and report on their reliability annually.

Uptime performance

For the most recent reporting period, our rapid charging network achieved:

Network uptime: 99.85%

This meets the Government requirement that rapid public charge points achieve a minimum of 99% reliability, calculated in accordance with the regulations. Reliability is measured using charge point operational status data and reflects the percentage of time chargers are available for use by drivers.

How we maintain high reliability

We take a proactive approach to network performance, including:

  • Regular planned and preventative maintenance
  • 24/7 monitoring of charger status and faults
  • Remote diagnostics and software updates
  • Rapid response maintenance and repair
  • Ongoing investment in resilient hardware and systems

Where chargers are temporarily unavailable, we work to restore service as quickly as possible.

Regulatory compliance

We submit a detailed annual reliability report to the UK Government covering:

  • The number of rapid charge points in operation
  • Network-wide uptime performance
  • Charge point status data used to calculate reliability

This reporting is carried out in line with the Public Charge Point Regulations 2023.

Transparency for drivers

We publish live availability information through mapping services and charge point apps, helping drivers plan journeys and find available chargers. If you experience an issue at one of our charge points, please contact our customer support team so we can resolve it quickly.
