Zest Eco Ltd ("we",”our”,”us”) is committed to safeguarding the privacy of our website visitors, App users and service users. By using our website and agreeing to this policy, you consent to our use of cookies in accordance with the terms of this policy.
This policy sets out how we, as data controller, collect and use your personal information, why we use it, with whom we share it, the rights to which you may be entitled and your choices about our use of your personal information, that may arise from you buying and using our products and services.
You can specify whether you would like to receive direct marketing communication from us and can withdraw your consent and unsubscribe by contacting us on the details provided within this policy.
Please do not supply any other person’s data to us unless we prompt you to do so.

The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information when you use our Website or App, or get in touch with us about our services. We only collect data that is required for its intended purposes:

  • Website and services usage data (IP address; geographical location; browser type and version; operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views and website navigation paths, the timing, frequency and pattern of your service use gathered from our analytics tracking systems which track the behaviour of customers on our mobile app and website);
  • Personal identifiers (name, telephone number, home address, your encrypted Zest account password and email address)
  • Optional information (vehicle registration, vehicle VIN, make and model)
  • Your current location is collected when you use our App, but not stored
  • The last four digits of your payment card details, to enable you to recognise the card you registered with our secure PCI DSS payment processor, and any other requirements set out in our App
  • Your payment card details are used but not stored, when completing a Charging Session via a Charger with a payment card terminal

‍How we get the personal information and why we have it

  • Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
  • to improve our website, App and our services to better fit your needs;
  • to provide you with access to our EV charging services;
  • to enable us to make grant applications on your behalf, such as OZEV schemes or any other similar or replacement grant scheme;
  • to provide you with service updates about our EV charging network;
  • to enable us to operate a secure App and website, and services you or your employer expect based on our contract with you or your employer;
  • to provide you with information about our services, wider industry news or appropriate third party products or services;
  • to be able to install and maintain our products and services at your property;
  • to provide you with a directory service in the form of a map of our EV charging services;
  • to allow us to process your purchase and to securely keep proper and correct records of your contracted services with us;
  • to provide you with our contact details to enable you to communicate with us directly to provide feedback or any other purpose initiated by yourself

We may share this information with any member of our group of companies (this means our subsidiaries and our holding company).
We may disclose personal data, on a “need to know” basis to:

  • Our insurers and professional advisors
  • Our installation engineers and operations team, who may be subcontractors, to enable them to install the equipment you need to use our services. Our installers may also pass your Account and Services Data to us to activate your EV charger post installation services and the warranty. Installers may also process your personal data on their own behalf, and you may wish to check the Installer’s own privacy policy for more details
  • Our payment services providers (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd and Planet Merchant Services Ltd) to enable them to process your payments. Data is limited to transaction data and is used to process or refund payment and to deal with complaints and queries.   • Our IT service providers from whom we license technology. This enables us to carry out essential business operations
  • Any organisations or government departments who may offer funding or grants to you in respect of the services we provide

  • Any public or regulatory authority if we’re required to by law, or under any regulatory code or practice we follow, or if we are asked by such bodies  
  • Selected other third party service providers to manage our customer relationships

Please note that on the termination of any relationship between you and us, personal data relating to you may be retained by or, as the case may be, transferred to one or more of the groups of companies listed above, their successors and assigns if necessary for us to comply with contractual, legal or financial obligations.
