Zest has opened new electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities at the Starbucks and Wendy’s stores at Croft Retail Park in Bromborough, in partnership with franchise operator Cafe Fortune.

Expanding access to convenient public charging for drivers in the area, the new facility features six 120kW charging spaces, allowing EV drivers to recharge while visiting the popular drive-thru location.

Situated in a prominent roadside location in Bromborough’s Croft Retail and Leisure Park on the Wirral peninsula, the chargers are designed to support local residents, commuters and visitors, while helping to meet growing demand for reliable public charging infrastructure.

The deployment in Bromborough is part of an ongoing partnership between Zest and Cafe Fortune to roll out EV charging infrastructure across franchise locations around the UK, following the delivery of chargers at Starbucks on the Nottingham Road retail park in Somercotes, near Alfreton.

The project also supports Zest’s broader strategy to deliver EV charging in convenient everyday destinations, enabling drivers to charge their vehicles while stopping for coffee, shopping or other daily activities.

Ian Gill, Property Director at Cafe Fortune, said:

“I’m pleased to continue our partnership with Zest to bring rapid EV charging to our Bromborough Starbucks and Wendy’s location. As more drivers switch to electric vehicles, providing convenient charging facilities alongside food and drink destinations is becoming increasingly important.

“This investment enhances the experience for our customers, allowing them to recharge both themselves and their vehicles during their visit, while supporting the continued transition to electric mobility across the region.”
Robin Heap, CEO at Zest, said:

“Our long-term partnership with Café Fortune reflects a shared commitment to delivering convenient, reliable EV charging in places where people already spend time as part of their daily lives.

“As EV adoption continues to grow, it is important that drivers have access to charging infrastructure at convenient roadside destinations. By working together to expand charging provision across Café Fortune locations, we are helping make EV charging a seamless part of everyday journeys.”

The new charging facilities are now live and available for public use.
