National Careers Week provided an opportunity for the Zest team to connect with the next generation and inspire them towards meaningful career paths. Over the week, we dedicated a total of 16.5 hours to educational engagement, reaching out to an impressive 3257 students across six different educational establishments.

The highlight of the week was undoubtedly our participation in four careers events, including the highly anticipated ‘Your Future’ Careers Fair hosted by Bishop Auckland College. The event not only allowed us to support and showcase our commitment to promoting sustainable careers but also provided invaluable platforms for networking and collaboration.

The delivery of our 'Green Careers' workshop saw us delve into several roles in sustainability and technology within the EV industry and educate New College Durham students about the various routes to employment. Collaborating with Durham Works for another workshop further emphasised our dedication to empowering schools and students to meet essential benchmarks and develop crucial skills for the modern workforce. The ‘Speed Networking’ session at Parkside Academy engaged the students to learn more first-hand about different career opportunities from business advisors.

Working in partnership with educational establishments such as New City College, Bishop Auckland College, Redcar and Cleveland College, Parkside Academy, King’s Academy, and New College Durham allowed us to broaden our reach and impact within the communities in which we operate. Through these interactions, we sought to ignite enthusiasm and ambition in young individuals, encouraging them to consider careers that contribute to environmental sustainability and innovation.

As we navigate towards a sustainable future, we understand our role in empowering tomorrow's workforce and driving positive change. Through educational engagement, collaborative partnerships, and participation in career events, Zest inspires young individuals to pursue careers that contribute to environmental sustainability and innovation.
