Zest, the UK’s fastest-growing investor-operator of public EV charging infrastructure, has opened a new electric vehicle (EV) charging site at the Costa Coffee and Burger King drive-thru development on Southam Road in Banbury.

Featuring four 160kw EV charging bays, the new facility gives drivers a convenient place to recharge while stopping for food or coffee at the prominent roadside destination.

The Banbury deployment is part of Zest’s partnership with Stephen James Property to install reliable public EV charging at new roadside developments, helping to expand the charging network in locations that fit naturally into drivers’ daily journeys.

Robin Heap, CEO at Zest, said:

“Our partnership with Stephen James Property demonstrates how EV charging can be planned into new developments from the outset, creating convenient infrastructure that is ready to meet both today’s needs and future demand.

“By locating charging alongside Costa Coffee and Burger King on one of Banbury’s main routes, we are making it easier for drivers to recharge as part of journeys they are already making. An easy-to-use, everyday charging experience like this is exactly what’s needed to support the transition to electric.”

Located on Southam Road, one of Banbury’s key arterialroutes, the development occupies the former CAR Motor Services site and iseasily accessible for residents and passing traffic.

Stephen Summerfield, Director at Stephen James Property, commented:

“We are delighted to work with Zest to bring EV charging to this high-quality new development in Banbury. Combining convenient charging with well-known food and drink destinations creates a modern roadside offer for residents, commuters and visitors alike.”

The new charging facilities are now live and available forpublic use.
