KFC, Winsford
Zest, the UK’s fastest-growing investor-operator of public EV charging infrastructure, has opened a new ultra-rapid electric vehicle charging site at the new KFC at Winsford Gateway, giving drivers a fast and convenient way to charge while visiting the restaurant.
The new site features four 150kW charging spaces, providing reliable, high-powered charging for local drivers, commuters and visitors to Winsford Industrial Estate.
The deployment has been delivered through Zest’s partnership with franchise operator Gastronomy Foods, supporting the rollout of convenient public EV charging at everyday destinations.
Robin Heap, CEO at Zest, said:
“KFC Winsford is exactly the kind of everyday destination where ultra-rapid charging can make electric driving simpler. By working with Gastronomy Foods to place reliable chargers where people already stop, we’re helping drivers make better use of their time and giving more people the confidence to choose electric.”
Located on Road One at Winsford Industrial Estate, the KFC opened in June. Customers can dine in, take food away, order delivery or use the drive-thru, making it a convenient stopping point for people travelling to and from the industrial estate and the wider Winsford area.
With four ultra-rapid 150kW charging spaces available, the facility is designed to support faster charging sessions and make it easier for drivers to top up while stopping for food. The restaurant sits alongside other everyday destinations including Costa Coffee, McDonald’s, Greggs and Subway.
Ian Gill, Property Director at Gastronomy Foods, said:
“We’re pleased to partner with Zest to bring ultra-rapid EV charging to our new KFC restaurant in Winsford. The charging spaces add another useful amenity for customers and local drivers, while supporting the shift to cleaner transport across the community.”
